May 27: Setting the Table: An Industry Perspective of Negotiation Preparation

Live webinars hosted by the NCMA Headquarter's Learning Center are 90-minute sessions (60 minutes of live instructor-led training followed by a 30-minute Q&A period.)  Participants will receive a recording that is accessible for 30 days following the live session.

 Webinar Description: Representatives from a variety of companies engaged in federal and defense contracting will share front-end activity and preparation activities routinely addressed during pursuit and negotiation of government contracts.  These professionals will highlight the vetting practices and decision-making inflection points encountered as an opportunity (aka, a “requirement”) traverses the path from good idea to contract award. 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Gain appreciation for the effort expended by industry providers to prepare for capture, competition, proposal generation, and negotiation.
  • Understand the general “funnel” procedures used by industry to vet opportunities, make “go/no-go” bid decisions, and generate proposals in pursuit of Government contracts.
  • Explore the complexity of creating teams, issuing subcontracts, and ensuring a robust supply chain.
