June 10: Accounting Compliance for Contracting Professionals

Webinar Description: Contracting professionals hold a key responsibility for ensuring compliance in their organization.   This webinar will explore what’s important to comply with from an accounting perspective and why.  The presenter will focus on the SF 1408 Preaward Survey of Prospective Contractor Accounting System requirements and cover references to DCAA’s Information for Contractors, FAR 31 (Unallowable Costs) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).  Components of an accounting system, including policies and procedures, software and cloud services, and records and reports will also be covered.

 Learning Objectives: 

  • Identify the common accounting requirements in an RFP or contract.
  • Describe the organizational implications of key accounting compliance requirements for government contractors.
  • Recognize the need for an adequate accounting system and identify a few steps for getting started.
